Our research focuses on the intersection of heat and mass transfer, surface science, and polymers. Our research aims to reduce the energy consumption and assist in the decarbonization for society. The materials side of our research investigates polymer physics and surface-interface phenomena to engineer high-performance materials. We build unique capabilities to quantify the performance of those new materials in real-world applications. The thermal side of our research studies the underlying physics of phase-change heat transfer and multiphase flow, aiming to innovate/improve thermal fluids and energy systems.
